It’s official! Google’s Penguin 2.0 search algorithm update has been rolled out across the internet as of yesterday. The main question is, who has been affected and where are they now?
For those of you unfamiliar with the terminology, Google Penguin is one of Google’s many search algorithms. They run these algorithms and update constantly to ensure they are returning the most relevant and specific content to users. The algorithms crawl through all website domains and give them a score. Elements that affect this scoring are keyphrase stuffing, over-optimised content and bad links. Based on Google’s findings, the domains position in search for various keyphrases is then updated. Updates can be positive if Google is happy with your overall content, structure and links improving your position in search or negative occurring in a drop in ranking positioning or even a complete drop off search if Google find content that they are unhappy with.
Just another warning from Google, be careful and make sure your SEO is all clean and white-hat or you can be penalised and dropped/removed from search.
