They’re changing colour you know, they were green, olive green I assume, and now they’re brown (olive brown?). I think that means they’re ripe but it might mean they’ve gone off I’m not sure, either way I’m going to pick them this weekend as the Indian Summer has definitely headed back to the sub continent and we are now enjoying a Baltic Autumn. I’m no horticulturist but I don’t think the olive trees like it so I’ll be harvesting them tomorrow. What I need to learn is what to do with them after that. I’m not sure if you pickle them (and if you do what in? vinegar? olive oil?? brandy???) dry them, squeeze them or put them in a wee plastic tub with feta cheese and hope for the best. If I’m off ill again next week you’ll know why!
